Joe DeSantis
First Congregational Church of Revere - Revere, MA

Joe accepted Jesus in his heart after meeting Superman at a Halloween party in 1984 (ask him about the full story). The Lord put him right to work. Joe was a Production Director for Lift Jesus higher a weekly broadcast television show from 1985-1992. From 1995-2000, he served as Sound Engineer for the March for Jesus. He has been serving as AV director The First Congregational Church of Revere for the past 30 years. From 1996-1998, Joe was a partial owner of Dove Records. Joe and his wife Carol started Reach the Beach in 2008 and have been on Senior Staff ever since. Joe have also served on various boards and committees at the First Cong. Joe’s most memorable adventure is Reach the Beach. It all started in 2007 when a group of young adults asked Joe to help them bring a nationally known worship leader to Revere. One thing led to another and the first Reach the beach was held in 2008. Since then, they have been on the beach each summer except for 2020 and 2021. What Joe loves about Reach the Beach is that multiple churches come together with a singular mission, to spread the Love of Jesus to a lost world. No denominations, no church politics, just Jesus. Joe calls it the Church without walls. Joe’s favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (NIV 1984).

Carol DeSantis
First Congregational Church of Revere - Revere, MA

She is 64 years old and the director of the Caring Hearts Ministry of First Congregational Church in Revere, Mass. She is currently on a three-month sabbatical to recharge. She has been with RTB since 2008. At the first RTB, we noticed homeless people sleeping on benches. This is when the Lord spoke to her heart to feed the homeless. When she asked Him how, He replied with socks. So, every RTB, we gathered together churches to make bagged lunches for them and ask for donated new men’s white socks. Through Caring Hearts Ministry, we have fed and clothed our homeless guests every Saturday at the beach from 12 noon to 2 pm. But she needs time to rest and listen to the Lord. Those of you wondering, her favorite color is purple – all day! Her favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6.
